With travel budgets starting to loosen (now if only that volcano in Iceland hadn’t disrupted travel for so long!), more and more employees will be carrying expensive hardware and valuable data with them.
How comfortable and confident are you that company employees are keeping company assets (especially the data) safe?
Here are some tips for all business travelers for keeping laptops safe:
- Keep a laptop lock in your laptop travel bag
- Stay vigilant at airports – according to a survey done by the Ponemon Institute LLC, an astounding number of laptops go missing every week at airports around the world. We’re talking about 637,000 laptops lost each year.
- Have to leave your laptop unattended? Use that laptop lock, like the ones Kensington makes, in your bag.
- Leaving your hotel room? Make sure your laptop is secure in the safe, or secured using a laptop lock (remember that thing in your bag?)
